WORKSHOP - Introduction to screen printing with Kate Watts, Saturday 26th April
Saturday 26th April
10am-4pm
201 North Road, North East Valley, Dunedin
This is an introduction to screen printing with a focus on things that you can do yourself in a domestic space. During this course you will design and cut your own stencils and print on supplied bags or tea towels, or you can bring your own garments or fabrics to print (at least 50% natural fibres). Maximum 4 students.
Stencil cutting materials and tools will be supplied (feel free to bring a favourite knife, scalpels will be provided). Printing inks and screens will be supplied, with an opportunity to purchase your own setup to keep going at home. (an indication of prices is pictured, you will not need all of these things to print at home, and you do not need to purchase any before the course.)
You will take home your stencils and textile samples, and a list of where to purchase everything you need to print. 10am-4pm Saturday. Maximum 4 students.
Kate Watts is a textile designer who lives in Dunedin. Her passions are colour, print and a whole variety of textile techniques. Her work is inspired by the natural environment and museums, and by the process of making itself.
